About Denise Dempsey Kane

Denise Dempsey Kane My name is Denise Dempsey Kane. I am a graduate of Moore College of Art and have attended Villanova University. I have been married to John E. Kane a stockbroker for twenty five years. Prior to the birth of our children, I have taught art and worked in accounting. Our eldest daughter, Delia is a R.N. and recently graduated with honors from Gwynedd Mercy College with a B.S.N. She is working at a local hospital. I am homeschooling our son, Jack, 20 who is mentally retarded and has a seizure disorder. Our youngest daughter, Rosemary 18, is non verbal and has been diagnoed as severely autistic, attends a MCIU class.

In the past nine years I have returned to my artwork after a twenty year hiatus. I have exhibited in the Phillipp's Mill, Tinicum. Artists' Museum, Woodmere Museum, Perkiomen Art League, Greater Norristown Art League, Conshohocken Art League, Meadowood, Notre Dame Academy and Daylesford Abbey art shows.. I have won the 2004 Rose Beloff award at the GNAL and the 2005 First Place at the Conshohocken Art league.

I work in pastels and digitized photography. Through digitized photography I am able to manipulate my image with software and painting with a mouse.

I consider my talent as one of the many blessings God has given our family. Our daily life and family trips inspire my work. Delia and Jack ride and show their horses, Spunky, Chester and Roy. Our family has moved so that we could have our horse with us. The rural beauty of the area is the impetus to my landscapes and florals. I have spent many summers in Sea Isle with family and friends. The beach and countless happy memories inspire my seascapes.
